Time for another con report 8D
So this convention is mostly about comics and such, unlike the regular conventions we usually attend. Our friends that went last year gave this convention a really positive review so we dediced to attend this year.
Somewhere in 2014 bradaan and me decided we should cosplay from Spider-Man because we grew up watching the cartoon when we were little and we're also big fans of the Spider-Man movies. I picked Mary Jane and bradaan joined me as Gwen Stacy. I also convinced my sweet boyfriend to cosplay Peter Parker.. which would be a pretty subtle cosplay anyway.
The cosplay was so casual I already wore it when leaving home, but I painted my eyebrows red in the train... it would've looked silly if I did it earlier. Got a lot of strange looks from the regular guy sitting across of us in the train. We also met up with SedNobiS at the train station and we traveled the last part of the journey together
The weather was terrible but fortunately the convention wasn't too far away. Apparantly we were one of the first cosplayers to arrive because I was swamped with photoshoot questions right after arriving :') Which was really flattering I suppose, especially considering I was wearing such a simple outfit. Anyway, we had to hurry because we had a workshop planned with a friend of ours and his thermoplastics. I had never worked with thermoplastic before so it was really insightful. I have no clue what to use it for, though. Perhaps maybe Saber Alter armor... but that won't be anytime soon
After the workshop we strolled around the dealerroom for a bit. I had my mind set on a specific POP (which was King Joffrey from GoT) but they didn't have him! *cry* After that it was time for some food. We sat down in a beautiful hallway at the con. It was pretty much THE hallway for all photoshoots because it was really pretty. We had some photos taken and I also did a small shoot with bradaan as Gwen. I was also filmed by DoctorCow , which is always a lot of fun!
I had my BF's broken lens so I didn't make a lot of photos, since he borrowed mine.
Later that day we also visited the cosplay show called the Galaxy Masquarade. After that we sat down at a really comfortable cafe and had some small talk with friends. Fun fun fun :3 At the end of the day we were also joined by senseNcreativity who cosplayed Black Cat, so we took some pics as the ladies of the Spider-Man franchise

After that the day came to an end. It was a fun little convention even though I didn't buy anything. It was really relaxing. It was also really funny that many people didn't seem to recognize me as a redhead. I was also planning on only wearing this cosplay for this convention but bradaan convinced me to re-wear this on the sunday of Animecon (most likely). Because it's fun and easy. Sure why not! She'll be cosplaying Gwen then also
I won't be back next year because I will have my trip to Japan! Going back there after five years :3!!

School Days shoot

So earlier this month I had a School Days shoot with the lovely Evadoll ~
We dediced to have the shoot in Roosendaal, which is her hometown and it had some perfect locations for this series.
So on sunday I arrived pretty early at her place because I was planning on putting on my make-up and costume there. My BF was also tagging along because he would be the photographer that day. Later that morning Amirine also joined us as an assistant and she also wanted to practice photography herself.
When I was finished we headed out towards the trainstation, which would be our first location. We walked towards the end of the platform so we could have some kind of privacy. Unfortunately for us sometimes a really long train would arrive which caused people to step out of the train where we were shooting. Awkward...
After that we left towards location #2, which was a bridge that went across the trainrails. But when we made it on top of the bridge it was REALLY windy so our wigs would get messed up and the wind would blow our skirts up... Fortunately I was wearing safety shorts. XD But we decided this wouldn't do and left. At the bottom of the stairs we did manage to get some nice pics, though.
Roosendaal also has a really pretty park where we decided to eat some icecream.
The park itself would've been perfect for some photos, but the sun was really bright that day so that didn't really happen.
Afterward we went to our final and best location; an abandoned school. We covered ourselves in blood and went full yandere mode!! Good times

End of the Year journal 2014

I usually make a graphic out of this, but I'm not feeling creative right now so I'll just make a journal this time.
Costumes I wore
Gotta go with Saber Alter (2nd). I made the entire dress by myself and it was very frustrating sometimes. Especially the skirt and the top. I still want to improve this outfit quite a bit.
Multiple actually... I rewore two costumes I already owned (Beatrice, Megumi and Saber (casual)), and both Saber Alter (lolita casual) and Kuroneko were bought, although I did adjust both costumes.
Gonna go with Kuroneko... I honestly thought the character didn't really suit me when it comes to looks. The hime-cut looks awful on me and I'm naturally blonde so black hair looked a bit weird as well. xD And our little group missed Kirino! In the end I figured Kirino would've suited me better as a cosplay, but I really hate her so nope.
All my Saber Alter costumes 8D But mostly my yukata costume! Cute props, easy to wear and the construction was pretty easy aswell >w<!!
Only counting those I've worn this year. The costumes I've worn most are Saber Alter (yukata) and Saber Alter (lolita). But also Kuroneko despite me not really liking the cosplay. Hortus 3.0

So every half year bradaan and I organize a trip to a beautiful garden here in the northern part of the Netherlands for a shoot with friends, who usually live pretty far away (usually we're the ones doing the travelling ).
So last week it was time for another shoot, the weather was great and even though not as many people as the time before this one showed up, we really had a blast.
On the first day I decided to mostly cosplay. Last summer I made a yukata cosplay, based on the figurine by FREEing, and I figured that would be ideal for the gardens considering a part of it is a huge beautiful chinese garden (yeah not Japanese but equally beautiful). I was there early, because we only had limited time (the gardens are open from 10 to 5pm) and with me a few photographers because they don't really need that much time to prepare and I already did my make-up at home. So I got many photos because for the first hour I was pretty much the only model present. XD
In the beginning I already noticed a few problems... my umbrelly was broken, probably because of transporting considering I also took it with me to Abunai, and my stupid obi would fold to the outside, revealing my superfancy craft foam solution (that way the obi wouldn't completely fold, little trick of mine ) Soooo yeah I kept fixing that every time throughout the shoot. I first did a bunch of photos with Jeroen Weimar Photography and afterward I did a small photosession with JFermie Photography. I REALLY LOVE THOSE PHOTOS. They turned out absolutely gorgeous, I couldn't be more happy with them.
Selfesteem up!!
My boyfriend also took a pretty close-up of me, which was pretty difficult because I had trouble keeping a straight face with terrible chinese music playing in the background. XD
After that more cosplayers were ready so I had some time off :'D
I decided to accompany JFermie and ChikoxChan for a shoot of hers. I got to be the assistent
When we got back it was already around 2PM and I still planned on taking photos myself. But I knew that senseNcreativity was wearing Rin Tohsaka, also from Fate, also in yukata. So pictures of us clearly had to happen ._.
So I asked her and Chastten if they had time for a couple of photos! And I figured we would like take two or three pictures and be done with it, but it turned into a full length shoot with lots of derps and fun XD No regrets!
Still have a lot more photos of this shoot so expect them up soon! ^_^
So with only an hour left I only had time for one shoot with me as the photographer. So I went to the greenhouse with Graymark who was wearing Nathan Drake from Uncharted.

Soooo the next day most people had already left so only me, the-essie, Chastten, REPLICA-Photography, bradaan, LouCosplay and senseNcreativity were left. So only two cosplayers this time. This meant I had plenty time to shoot with both models. I started out with senseNcreativity who was wearing Chie Satonaka from Persona 4. I think we got some awesome pics out of that
So at the end of this shoot we actually ran into one of the managers of the garden, who was extremely excited about what we were doing and even offered us to shoot in the chinese teahouse, which was closed off at the moment. LouCosplay was actually wearing Yoko Littner (maid) from Gurren Lagann, and it was such a perfect environment for her *_*
So my second shoot was with her!! It was also a lot of fun although people around us did start taking pictures of her without permission -_-

And before we knew it the day was over, and we ended it with delicious sushi!!

Cosplay schedule: Abunai 2014

The end of my summer vacation is almost here... which means: it's time for Abunai! Definitely my favorite convention. And this is my cosplay schedule! I hope to see you there! And I'm very aware that I should write more journals!
